Here’s a list of things to do the weekend of Nov. 8-10, 2024.
World of Outlaws World Finals (Charlotte Motor Speedway), through Saturday: Three series over four days on one track. The world’s biggest superstars in dirt racing come together for a one-of-a-kind race. Watch the championship event for the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Cars, the World of Outlaws Case Construction and the Super DIRTcar Series. Single-day tickets start at $65.
Oz After Dark (Hi-Wire Brewing), Friday 7 to 11 p.m.: Something Wicked is coming to theaters soon and Hi-Wire Brewing is celebrating with a magical night inspired by the land of Oz. Sip on Wicked-themed cocktails, watch Cirque du Biere aerialists dressed as Elphaba and Glinda, and more. Guests are encouraged to come dressed in your most wicked attire. Admission is free.

The Geekery Market (Cabarrus Arena), Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.: No matter your fandom, you are welcome to the Geekery Market. This isn’t your typical comic convention, with dozens of artists selling unique and one-of-a-kind “geeky” stuff. You’ll also find LEGOs, Nerf sword demos, caricatures, board games and plenty of geeky music. Admission is free but a donation to Second Harvest Food Bank is requested.
Salute to Veterans Parade (Uptown Charlotte), Saturday 11 a.m.: Celebrate Veterans Day early with a patriotic parade down Tryon St. Over 2,000 participants will march down to honor those who have served in the United States Armed Forces including high school bands, JROTC, scout troops, active military and first-responder units, veteran organizations and more. The parade kicks off at 9th St and will go down to Brooklyn Village Ave. Admission is free.
Carolinas Veterans Day Festival (Romare Bearden Park), Saturday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Honor those who have served for our freedom with a family-friendly event in the heart of Uptown. With over 150,000 veterans living in the Metrolina region, the community comes together to recognize the sacrifice and contributions of our fellow veterans. Browse the Veterans Expo, watch a parachute jump and enjoy live patriotic music. There will be inflatables and activities for kids. Admission is free and open to everyone.
Bowl Street Pop-Up Market (The Bowl at Ballantyne), Saturday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.: It’s holiday season already and it’s time to start checking off that annual gift list. Shop local this year at The Bowl while supporting small businesses in our community. You’ll find everything from art, jewelry, clothing and more. Admission is free.
Red Bull Non-Stock 600 (AvidXchange Music Factory), Saturday 12:30 p.m.: The very first Red Bull Non-Stock 600 is happening right here in Charlotte. This brand-new race pits teams against each other in a go-kart race unlike any other with karts designed and built by their respective teams. The 600-second race around a dirt track will begin at 1:30 p.m. Watch WBTV’s Jorge Andres and the QC Life team compete in the race. Admission is free.

Charlotte Margarita & Mimosa Fest (Encore Nightclub), Saturday 2 to 8 p.m.: Are you team margarita or team mimosa? Why not both? This festival combines two of the best party drinks in a fun atmosphere that will have you bar hopping to four venues in Charlotte giving you access to special deals just for festival attendees. Admission starts at $24.99.
Snowflake Christmas Market (12201 S. Tryon St), Saturday & Sunday: ‘Tis the season for shopping and what better way than by supporting local. Over 30 vendors will come together for an early Christmas market selling art, homemade food, candles, crafts, woodwork and so much more. There will also be a plant class for all ages each day at 2 p.m., along with food trucks, hot chocolate and marshmallow roasting. The market will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
