Here’s a list of things to do the weekend of Nov. 22-24, 2024.
Charlotte Auto Show (Charlotte Convention Center), Thursday through Sunday: Rev up for a weekend of the latest vehicle models and the future of automobile technology. Leading automakers, like Ford, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz and more, invite you to get a 360 view of their vehicles in a no-pressure environment. Feel the speed at the indoor EV test track or enjoy the family-friendly activities. Admission is $15 each day, free for children 12 and under.
Southern Christmas Show (Park Expo & Conference Center), through Sunday: It’s the final weekend to experience the largest Christmas show in the country. Returning for its 57th year, the Southern Christmas Show will get you in the spirit where you can shop for holiday gifts, décor, art, food and more. Shop from hundreds of vendors, many who are local, and get inspired by the Christmas décor found all around the hall. Admission is $20 for adults and $10 for children 6 to 12.

Beat the Bomb Grand Opening (3638 Tryclan Dr), opening Friday: Suit up for a team game unlike anything you’ve experienced before. With locations in Atlanta, Brooklyn, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., Beat the Bomb will open its first North Carolina location right here in South End. Players wear full-body hazmat suits with hour-long missions to avoid being blasted by either paint, foam or slime. Can you beat the bomb? Tickets start at $29.95 each.
Ice Skating at Camp North Pole (Camp North End), opening Friday: Camp North End gets merry and bright with the return of the ice-skating rink. Lace up the skates and feel the joy of the season in the Charlotte hotspot with live music . Get cozy by the fire pit or enjoy a sip of hot seasonal beverages. The rink will open at 4 p.m. on weekdays and noon on weekends. Admission is $15 per person and includes skate rentals. Guests may bring their own skates.
Piedmont Town Center Holiday Tree Lighting, Friday 6 to 9 p.m.: The shopping and dining district is ready to bring on the holiday spirit with their annual tree lighting ceremony. Join the festivities with plenty of activities for the whole family including face painting, hot cocoa, train rides, crafts, giveaway, stilt walkers and your chance to take a picture with Santa. Admission is free.
Outdoor College Hockey (Truist Field), Friday & Saturday 7 p.m.: Truist Field switches out the diamond for the ice with the first of four games as part of the Light the Knights College Hockey Series. On Friday, UNC Charlotte will take on Appalachian State University followed by NC State vs. the University of South Carolina on Saturday. Tickets start at $12.
Midnight Alley Asian Street Food Festival (Alley 51), Saturday & Sunday: If you’ve ever wandered the streets of Asia, you know that smell of delicious street food wafting through the air. Now you can get that experience right here in Pineville this weekend at Midnight Alley. Alley 51, the international food hall located inside Super G Mart, is hosting an all-day food festival that will join the foodie destination’s lineup of Asian eats. Along with the food there will be performances, workshops and live music. Admission is free. Midnight Alley will be open from noon to midnight Saturday and noon to 9 p.m. on Sunday.

All is Bright a Holiday Celebration (Blakeney Town Center), Saturday 3 to 6 p.m.: Spready holiday cheer with Blakeney Town Center’s festive celebration. It’s a fun afternoon for the whole family with crafts, face painting, balloons and, of course, photos with Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Oh, and did we mention snow? Admission is free.
WinterFest (Carowinds), select nights ongoing: Immerse yourself in the holiday spirit at WinterFest. Carowinds transforms into a winter wonderland with millions of lights, ice skating, live entertainment and activities for the whole family. Carolers stroll through the park while twinkling lights surround you. Don’t miss the WinterFest Wonderland parade and the nightly tree lighting. Tickets start at $32.99 for adults and $19.99 when purchased online.
