Here’s a list of things to do the weekend of Feb. 14-16, 2025:

Valentine’s Ice Sculpture (100 S. Tryon St.), Friday 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.: Feel the love in the heart of Uptown. Head to Disc Plaza to see the larger-than-life ice heart where you can leave a note for your loved one. You can also get your hand on a free red rose while supplies last. Admission is free.

(Un)Valentines (Discovery Place Science), Friday 6 p.m.: Learn the science of love. Discovery Place Science is back with its Science on the Rock after-hours series for adults. Enjoy live music, activities and your chance to dissect a real animal heart to learn all about the organ. It’s a great night for both couples and single people who want to connect with others over science. Tickets start at $22.

Queen City Blues Festival (Bojangles Coliseum), Friday 8 p.m.: What’s better than an evening of soulful music after a romantic dinner? The 7th annual Queen City Blues Festival is here to make your Valentine’s Day an unforgettable one. Jam to the rhythm and lyrics of Tucka, King George, Pokey Bear, J-Wonn, West Love and Lacee. Tickets start at $82.

Charlotte Hot Chocolate Run (First Ward Park), Saturday 7:30 a.m.: Indulge yourself this Valentine’s Day weekend with a 5K, 10K or 15K run. Get your heart racing all around Uptown and Plaza Midwood while a sweet treat awaits you at the finish line. Participants will get an exclusive jacket, finisher’s medal, a mug, free race photos and, of course, plenty of their famous hot chocolate. Registration starts at $64.

Dog Days of Winter (Whitewater Center), Saturday 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.: It’s time to celebrate our four-legged friends with a full day of activities for them. From a 5K trail race, to adoption events, clinics and the chance for your K9 to get on the ice, it’s a winter wonderland for our pups. There will be plenty of local vendors selling gear, treats and more, and even a chance to paint your pup’s portrait. Admission is free, check the website for the full schedule.

Queen Charlotte’s Ball & Banquet (Charlotte Museum of History), Saturday 6 to 9 p.m.: Want to live your Bridgerton royal fantasy? Now’s your chance with a Queen’s Ball inspired by the series. Even better, the author of Bridgerton, Julia Quinn, will be the guest of honor. For superfans, VIP tickets include a conversation with the author. Dress to impress with plenty of themed photo opportunities and a costume contest. Dance the night away with live music and performances, dine like a king or queen with a delicious charcuterie grazing tables and desserts, and sip on specialty themed beverages. Admission starts at $50.

Carolina Ascent vs Lexington SC (American Legion Memorial Stadium), Saturday 7 p.m.: Join the Carolina Ascent for their spring home opener. Feel the love of a Valentine’s Day-themed game with free mug and hot cocoa giveaway, halftime three-legged race and a post-game Valentine’s player party. Tickets start at $22.

Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons (Ovens Auditorium), Saturday 8 p.m.: Oh what a night! The legendary original Jersey Boy who led the Four Seasons to the top of the music industry with hits like “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Walk Like a Man,” and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You,” is serenading the Queen City once again. Tickets start at $84.

Rail Trail Lights (South End), ongoing: All aboard the Rail Trail! The illuminating art installation is back with never-before-seen lights along the rail. Featuring the work of award-winning artist Meredith Connelly, discover the wonder and magic of light with several pieces up and down the trail highlighting the theme of “Golden Threads.” This year’s installations include “Weavers,” “Fairy Ring,” “Water,” and more. Admission is free and will be open to the public through Feb. 23.
