(QC Life) - For the past 15 years, Lydia’s Prom Closet has been a beacon of kindness and generosity in the greater Charlotte area, ensuring that every high schooler attending prom has access to free formal attire. This incredible initiative, led by Aileen Ramírez and Tammy Morris, provides young people with dresses, shoes, and accessories, making their prom night unforgettable without financial burden.
A Mission of Love and Acceptance
Founded in 2010 by Aileen, Lydia’s Prom Closet is a self-funded ministry housed in the education building of First Baptist Church of Huntersville. What began as a vision to help young ladies embrace their outer beauty has since evolved into a thriving outreach, serving hundreds of students each year.
At the heart of the prom closet is a dedicated team of volunteers, whose selfless contributions ensure that each student receives not just an outfit but an experience filled with kindness, dignity, and joy.

The success of Lydia’s Prom Closet is made possible through the generosity of the community. Donations of NEW or NEARLY NEW prom attire are always welcome, helping to provide a diverse selection of dresses and accessories for students in need. Donations can be dropped off at First Baptist Church of Huntersville, allowing more young individuals to shine on their special night.
Visit Lydia’s Prom Closet
The prom closet is open every Saturday from 9:00 AM to noon, with no appointments necessary. High school students attending prom are invited to browse the collection and find the perfect ensemble. This year, Lydia’s Prom Closet will remain open until May 10th, ensuring ample opportunity for students to find their dream outfit.
