CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - March through October every year marks kitten season. Its a time when statically lots of community (stray) cats are born.
While it may seem fun to see the cuties out and about, it can be a lot for the organizations that have to take care of them. Co-Founder of Windsor Kittens and TNR- Coordinator Alex Kastanas Holladay Joined us in studio to talk about what you can do if you come across a community cat.
Here are some quick tips to remember how you can help:
- Mama is their best chance at survival – especially between birth and four weeks, so before you kitten-nap, survey the area to find mom. Taking kittens at this age should only be a last resort, there are not enough resources to bottle feed all the babies.
- Use trusted/credible sources if you find yourself in a place with kittens. We love Kitten Lady and she has a ton of videos online to walk you through bottle feeding and kitten care
- How you can support shelters & rescues like Windsor Kittens: adopt, foster, volunteer, donate
