CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - They don’t call it the Oscars of Fashion for nothing.
Every year, the MET Gala transforms the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art into a runway for the world’s brightest stars and fashion’s boldest icons-
All dressed in jaw-dropping looks that bring the annual theme to life.
This year’s theme is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” — a powerful celebration of Black dandyism, elegance, and cultural expression through fashion.
Each year brings a new group of celebrity co-chairs.

This year, they are Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, ASAP Rocky Pharrell Williams, and, of course, Anna Wintour. Lebron James will serve as honorary chair.
The theme has inspired an exhibit that will be happening right here in Charlotte days before.
That’s right, on Friday, May 2nd, you can celebrate Black people’s indelible contributions to fashion at the historic Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts & Culture.
Watch the video above to learn more about the event from the host herself: Professor P, a.k.a. Perrine DeShield-Jenkins.
