Keeping Your Skin Protected in the Sun

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - The Friday before Memorial Day is designated as “Don’t Fry Day.” The National Council on Skin Cancer Prevention says the goal is to reduce the most common cancer and encourage more people to take steps to stay safe in the sun.

Some not-so-fun facts (according to skincancer.org) - 1 in 5 Americans will develop skin cancer by the age of 70. And having 5 or more sunburns doubles your risk for melanoma.

Dr. Nasfat Shehadeh with Oncology Specialists of Charlotte and Piedmont Medical Center shares ways you can enjoy the sun and stay protected from dangerous UV rays.
