CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - Dr. Sonja Sepúlveda visited the QC studio after a recent performance at Carnegie Hall with the New England Symphonic Ensemble to share a special invitation from the Palmetto Voices Spiritual Ensemble.
The choir is dedicated to preserving and promoting the legacy of the Concert Spiritual, a unique American art form that unites people through powerful storytelling and song.
Their August 16 concert is a meaningful celebration of the connection between the Palmetto Voices Spiritual Ensemble, Winthrop University, and the city of Rock Hill. Many members, including director Dr. Sonja Sepúlveda and soloist Herbert Johnson, are proud Winthrop alumni, inspired by the legacy of beloved professor Dr. Robert Edgerton.
Proceeds from the event support music scholarships through the 110-year-old Rock Hill Music Club, benefitting local students pursuing music at Winthrop and York County high schools.
