21st Annual Dia de Muertos Festival returns to Camp North End

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - CHARLOTTE — The Latin American Coalition and Levine Museum of the New South will host the 21st Annual Dia de Muertos Festival on Saturday, Nov. 1, from noon to 8 p.m. at Camp North End.

The free event celebrates Latin American culture through art, music, dance and food. Last year’s festival welcomed more than 18,000 attendees.

Dia de Muertos honors those who have passed while emphasizing that death is a natural part of life and should be celebrated.

Festival highlights

The Kids Zone runs from noon to 6 p.m. with free arts and crafts. Live performances feature local music and dance groups from 12:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The Catrina Parade begins at 4:30 p.m. with colorful costumes symbolizing death through art and joy.

Food vendors will offer authentic offerings and traditional pan de muerto.

The festival takes place at Camp North End, located at 1774 Statesville Ave.
