CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - The holiday spirit is in full swing at the Reindeer Romp 5K with Girls on the Run.
Lindy Morris, Executive Director and founder of Girls on the Run Tri‑County SC, joined QC Life to talk about the event.
The 5K is the finale of a 10‑week curriculum designed to inspire girls to reach their limitless potential. Beyond running, participants learn how to process emotions, work as part of a team, and complete community impact projects.
This year marks the 18th Reindeer Romp, and Piedmont Medical Center has been a proud supporter since 2005. With over 500 girls, 120 volunteer coaches and 670 running buddies, it’s a joyous community day!
Chris Mitchell, CEO of Piedmont Medical Center Fort Mill, and his daughter Evelyn Mitchell — a Girls on the Run participant from Orchard Park Elementary — join us to celebrate the program’s impact.

Evelyn summed it up perfectly: “Go out there, run, have fun, and be a good friend!” The Reindeer Romp is more than a race — it is a celebration of growth, teamwork, and the supportive community that helps these girls shine.
