CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - Howard Hitchcock, CEO of Lionel LLC, joined QC Life to celebrate a milestone: Lionel Trains is 125 years old. He shares that it’s been an incredible anniversary year that highlights the brand’s heritage and broad appeal.
From a special 125th anniversary boxcar to fun partner events like the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers night. Lionel also opened its doors to the community, hosting over 1,000 visitors from 31 states at its Concord HQ and earning rave feedback.
Howard talked about how the company is blending tradition with modern play. While trains used to be transformer-controlled, Lionel has added remote control and Bluetooth features through its apps to give newcomers more ways to play and longtime hobbyists new ways to enjoy their layouts.
Lionel Trains has stores at Concord Mills and Opry Mills that keep trains running, showcase commemorative items, and give fans a place to connect in person.
Of course, Lionel and the holidays go hand in hand. Howard said Lionel hears again and again that Christmas is not complete till you have your Lionel train under the tree, and he believes setting up a train becomes a new family tradition that creates lasting memories.
With stores, special products, and a community-first approach, Lionel’s 125th year is all about celebrating the past while inviting new generations to join the fun! To learn more visit www.lionelstore.com and follow @lionel_trains.
