Spreading Christmas cheer through song

Spreading Christmas cheer through song From Hurricane Helene to holiday hope — see The Bergamot live.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - This time of year is full of lights, music, and holiday traditions — but a concert can be so much more than just a show. The Bergamot is bringing “A South Shore Christmas” to The Carolina Theatre, blending harmony, heart, and a spirit of giving back.

I’m joined by Jillian Speece and Nathaniel Paul Hoff of The Bergamot. Last year they posted a non-monetized video about Hurricane Helene in Asheville that became the #1 video worldwide on YouTube for 48 hours and has now surpassed 5.3 million views.

That effort helped raise awareness and coordinate food, donations, and on-the-ground help, it was powerful to see people from around the world give so generously.

The Bergamot is an indie folk-rock band doing a very special Christmas concert in partnership with local nonprofit ArtsPlus; 50% of the proceeds will support ArtsPlus’s programs. Catch them at The Carolina Theatre: for more info visit at thebergamot.com or @thebergamot.
