CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - Melissa Rubio, program manager for the National Kidney Foundation joins QC Life to raise awareness around World Kidney Day.
Melissa is helping lead efforts in the Carolina’s to raise awareness and celebrate the people making a difference in kidney health across the region. Melissa is also a kidney transplant recipient - she received a kidney at 18 and is now an 11-year transplant patient.
NKF Carolinas is hosting the 2026 World Kidney Day Reception: “An Evening Under the Stars” to mark World Kidney Day on Thursday, March 12. The event will be located at the Mint Museum in Uptown Charlotte. During the event they will recognize key leaders in the Carolinas kidney community and includes a social hour with exhibits, music, drinks, food stations, and a silent auction.
