Local artist releases new album “Ask Me How I’ve Been” North Carolina singer-songwriter and rapper Anella Herim, releases his new album after finishing a national tour with 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - Anella Herim is a 24-year-old singer-songwriter and rapper from Trinity, North Carolina, known for pushing the boundaries of country-pop with rhythmic, emotionally unguarded music.

Encouraged by his father, he started playing drums at just four years old and grew up making music in church, where his dad served as a worship leader. By age six, Anella became the church’s primary drummer, later expanding his skills to saxophone, bass, piano, and guitar.

He released a steady stream of songs on SoundCloud, setting the stage for his Def Jam debut. In 2024, he dropped the Season Series, a collection of five short EPs exploring youth, life stages, and emotion across genres.

He has since toured nationally, including runs with major artists like Lil Wayne and Quavo, and performed closer to home at the Lovin’ Life Music Festival. His latest project, “Ask Me How I’ve Been,” released March 27 and is available now on all streaming platforms.
