CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - Broadway’s hit musical “& Juliet” has arrived in Charlotte, playing now at the Belk Theater, and its leading lady is stops by the QC Life Studio before the curtain rises. Fabiola Caraballo Quijada, who stars as Juliet, is making her national tour debut fresh off a breakout year — the recent high school graduate won the 2025 Jimmy Award for Best Performance by an Actress after two prior nominations.
“& Juliet” reimagines what happens after Shakespeare’s tragic ending, following Juliet as she chooses a fresh path of self-discovery, love and adventure instead of her storied fate. Created by Emmy-winning writer David West Read (“Schitt’s Creek”), the musical pairs its bold modern retelling with a soundtrack of chart-topping pop hits from producer Max Martin and collaborators — including “Since You’ve Been Gone,” “...Baby One More Time,” “Roar” and “Can’t Stop the Feeling!”
Nominated for nine Tony Awards and performed in six countries, “& Juliet” runs at Blumenthal Arts Tuesday, Aug. 11 through Sunday, Aug. 16, with matinees on Aug. 15 and 16. Tickets are available at blumenthalarts.org.
