CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - The 4th annual Charlotte Asian Film Festival returns on Saturday, August 29, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at its new home, the Independent Picture House. Backed by local arts and community grants, this year’s festival - first established in 2017 and revitalized post-pandemic features 30 films curated from more than 2,000 global submissions.
With Charlotte’s Asian population growing by 89% over the past decade, the festival provides a crucial platform for Asian and Asian American creators while offering local audiences a window into diverse cultures. Beyond the screenings, attendees can participate in panels focused on Asian representation and mental health, followed by a lively after-party starting at 5:30 p.m. featuring local vendors, a DJ, and cultural performers. Tickets are available online, with theater seating available on a first-come, first-served basis.
