CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - For so many community members working to rebuild their lives after addiction and hardship, finding a supportive landing spot makes all the difference. QC Life host Jana Angel is at Community Matters Cafe to learn more about their life saving mission.
Front of House Manager Angel Juan shares how Community Matters Cafe an extension of the Charlotte Rescue Mission — helps individuals transition into a new chapter by teaching career and life skills. To support this transformative work, the community is invited to the Community Matters 5K on Saturday, August 29th at 8:00 a.m. Beginning at the cafe, participants can run or walk along the greenway, offering a beautiful opportunity to see the mission’s impact first-hand. Even if you cannot attend the race, you can still get involved by sponsoring a participant currently in recovery.
Of course, the cafe is also famous for its delicious treats. Pastry Chef Shikira Grimes showcases some of the current menu highlights, including a sourdough chocolate chip cookie, a decadent brookie, an orange pound cake, and a peach cobbler cheesecake.
