CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - Historic downtown Belmont is set to become a haven for readers of all ages during the 2nd Annual Belmont Bookshop Literary Festival Saturday, September 5th. Organized by Belmont Bookshop owner Kristina Bulovic, this spectacular community celebration will feature an impressive lineup of 57 authors.
Throughout the day, attendees can explore a vendor market with over 50 makers, creatives, and food trucks, alongside multi-genre panel discussions spanning literary fiction, fantasy, romance, and thrillers. The festival will have a closing keynote conversation between best-selling author Mona Awad, celebrating the release of her latest book “We Love You, Bunny”, and Charlotte native Lovell Holder, author of “Book of Luke”.
This year’s festival also has a robust lineup of children’s and family programming designed to spark creativity in younger readers. Families can visit the Family Zone sponsored by the Schiele Museum for dino races and a mini museum, catch a live performance from the Black Star Theater, or attend storytimes featuring a special appearance by beloved children’s book character The Gruffalo.
Additionally, kids can engage in discussions with award-winning children’s authors Steve Sheinkin and Rex Ogle, or even participate in a chess tournament and Chess 101 clinic led by legendary World Chess Hall-of-Fame Inductee and Grand Master Maurice Ashley.
