CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - For 50 years, Labor Day weekend in the Carolinas has meant one thing: Matthews Alive! This beloved four-day festival has become a cherished holiday tradition, offering a mix of classic fair fun and community spirit. From a bustling carnival featuring exciting new rides, whimsical funhouses, and games for the little ones, to over 150 small shops and arts and crafts vendors lining the streets, there is truly something for everyone.
Attendees can escape the late-summer heat in the air-conditioned indoor exhibits, enjoy a high-energy showdown at the dueling pianos stage, or catch incredible headliners performing live on the festival’s main stage.
What makes Matthews Alive truly special, however, is its heart. The entire event is designed to pour back into the community it calls home. Local non-profit organizations and volunteers help run the festival, and the proceeds and donations generated over the weekend are distributed directly to local organizations that support neighbors in need.
