As a versatile singer, dancer, drummer, mixed-media artist, and language educator, Mila brings rich cultural storytelling to life through creative projects like DOD – Daughters of the Drums Son de Pueblos and the dynamic mixed-media artist duo US. Alongside co-founders of La Casa de la Cultura, Mila is dedicated to building inclusive cultural spaces that celebrate heritage, rhythm, and the arts.
The community is invited to an educational panel hosted at Johnson C. Smith University (JCSU) on Thursday, Sept. 17, focusing on cultural dialogue, heritage, and creative expression. The cultural momentum continues later in the month on Saturday, Sept. 26, with a special community event at the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture, connecting with the Afro Legacy Fest and FOMO.
