CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - Traditional game nights just got an overdue, culture-first upgrade. Founded in 2019 by HBCU graduates and longtime friends Shakira Hodges and Deydra Bringas, Trivia for Us was born out of a desire to create a game that truly represents everyone.
After attending trivia nights where the questions often felt disconnected from their lived experiences, the duo set out to build an inclusive, high-energy space where players could compete, celebrate Black culture, and learn together. What started as local events quickly grew into major live experiences partnering with brands and institutions like Apple, Google, Essence Festival, Spelman College, and Charlotte’s own Harvey B. Gantt Center.
Now, that same vibrant energy is heading straight to living rooms with the official Trivia for Us Card Game. Designed to help friends and families unplug and connect, the 100-card deck spans five dynamic categories: Film & Television, Black History, Music, Blitz Questions, and Trivia for Us Math.
