CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - Recovery is a journey of courage, resilience, and connection - and no one should ever have to walk it alone. Dr. Jones, founder and Executive Director of A Safe Place Empowerment Network (ASPEN), joins QC Life alongside Antonia Bethune to share the vital mission behind the 2nd Annual Gaston County Recovery Walk.
Dedicated to supporting individuals and families navigating substance use, trauma, and mental health challenges, ASPEN created the walk as a judgment-free space to shatter lingering stigmas, celebrate the strength of those thriving in recovery, and honor the cherished lives lost to addiction.
Taking place on Saturday, September 19, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 913 Pryor Street in Gastonia, this community-wide event invites families, local organizations, advocates, and neighbors to come together.
Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with essential community wellness resources, support loved ones through their healing journeys, and show anyone currently struggling that asking for help is a powerful sign of strength.
