(QC Life) - The Ballantyne, a Luxury Collection Hotel is raising the bar for Queen City spirits enthusiasts with the official launch of an exclusive private tequila barrel, The Ballantyne Private Select Reposado. Created in partnership with Casa Obsidiana, this one-of-a-kind reposado is crafted from 100% Blue Weber agave produced at the Tierra de Agaves distillery near the Tequila Volcano. The area’s volcanic landscape and soil help define the tequila’s distinct sense of place. Casa Obsidiana represents the shared vision of the Beckmann Gonzalez family of Jalisco and the Boisset family of Burgundy and California, combining generations of tequila-making knowledge with expertise in wine and barrel finishing.
Presented in handcrafted ceramic bottles adorned with raw obsidian stone, the release makes Dunbar Social by Topgolf Swing Suite the only destination in the world offering this custom barrel, as well as the only venue in North Carolina currently serving Casa Obsidiana cocktails.
To mark the occasion, Casa Obsidiana Owner and Co-Founder Roberto Beckmann Gonzalez traveled from Jalisco to host an exclusive Launch Party, Friday, September 18, from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Dunbar Social.
The evening features an intimate guided tasting led by Gonzalez, a chef-curated pairing menu, a Champagne and caviar toast, and a high-spirited “Beat the Founder” longest-drive challenge in the Topgolf Swing Suites with custom prizes.
