CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - Alvin C. Jacobs Jr. is a nationally recognized photographer, image activist, author, and cultural documentarian whose striking black-and-white imagery preserves the people, places, and movements shaping modern history. From Ferguson to Charlotte, his lens has captured America’s defining cultural moments — including acclaimed works like “Welcome to Brookhill”, “K(no)w” “Justice K(no)w Peace”, and “Black Behind Bars”.
In 2025-2026, he received a City of Charlotte Proclamation for his artistic and cultural impact, and premiered “CHROME”, his first photography book, at the Harvey B. Gantt Center. Rooted in Black motorcycle culture, it honors the riders, rituals, and legacy of a community built on freedom and brotherhood.
