Black cats deserve love too

Black cats deserve love too Learn why black cats are good luck, meet two adoptable cats, and get details on Windsor Kittens’ holiday fundraiser.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - Marci Duniec, vice president of Windsor Kittens, joins QC Life to talk about Black Cat Awareness Month and two adoptable cats. The bad-luck myth dates back to medieval Europe, when black cats were linked to witches — but they’re considered good luck in Scotland, Japan, and among sailors.

Black cats still wait longer for adoption because of superstition and because they’re harder to photograph. Meet Lady Violet, a 1.5-year-old mom from the Bridgerton litter who loves food, toys, exploring, and other animals, and Juno, a 1-year-old ultra-friendly cat who loves belly rubs and gets along with cats, dogs, and people.

She also shares details on Windsor Wonderland, the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year, featuring dinner, programming, an auction, a drag performance from Vanity House, and a DJ’d dance party — with early-bird tickets and sponsorships available now.
