CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - You don’t need to go to the library to pick up a new book in Charlotte anymore. Now, the library is coming to you!

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Library’s mobile library, a 33-foot long vehicle will expand and deepen community outreach services. This service will allow the library to be further integrated in our community, giving our residents access to free resources, programs and technology.

Service delivery will prioritize high-need communities with limited physical or digital access to library services and resources.

A mobile library is a vehicle that holds library materials such as popular books, teen fiction, nonfiction, graphic novels, a Spanish selection and more. These items are curated to fit the needs of the community. The mobile library also contains access to Chromebooks for public use, Wi-Fi within 50 feet of the vehicle and assistance from Library staff. The mobile library will travel to areas in Mecklenburg County to provide on-the-go library services to communities.

The mobile library will not be available to book for parties or private events.
