QC Life’s Brian Stephenson talked to Tracy Heavner, the owner of Pete’s Fish Box, about her father’s passion for fishing and how it inspired her to open the restaurant in Cherryville.
“He [her father] loved God, fish and baseball and then his family,” Heavner said.
According to Heavner, everyone knew her father as a fisherman and a jokester, two characteristics she wanted to convey through the inside of the restaurant.

Their menu includes an array of chicken and fish dishes such as fantail shrimp, calabash shrimp, Alaskan white, catfish fillet, flounder fillet, French fries and of course frog legs on Fridays.
Pete’s Fish Box operates Wednesday through Saturday from 3 to 8 p.m. You can drive through or walk up to the window but keep in mind that they only accept cash payments.
