GASTONIA, N.C. (WBTV) - A century-old staple in Gaston County is getting some regional recognition.
Tony’s Ice Cream in Gastonia was named one of the “10 Most Iconic Old-School Ice Cream Shops” in the South by Southern Living earlier this month.
The classic shop serves 28 delicious flavors of ice cream, which are made right next door, along with soda, slushies and all kinds of sandwiches, breakfast and lunch items.
“What began as a pushcart business is now run by third-generation family owners, who are committed to keeping up the company’s longtime standard for excellence,” Southern Living said in its article.
According to Tony’s Ice Cream’s website, it has been around since 1915.
