CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - A Charlotte organization is striving to make sure children learn about daily culinary skills and have access to nutritious meals.
Culinary Connections Executive Director Chef Andarrio Johnson (also of Cuzzo’s Cuisine) teaches students foundational kitchen skills they’ll need to daily life and introduces them to culinary careers.
For example, Andarrio says he teaches the students how to safely handle sharp knives, sanitation, measuring techniques, how to use mini stoves and more.
He was joined by student Dayanara Ruiz Mendez to not just talk about the program, but show off Mendez’s skills in preparing salmon and broccoli.
