CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - A North Carolina food truck is aiming to increase food security through programs and services.
FeedNC provides food to those in need by bringing the food to them. In the summer, FeedNC does a children’s summer lunch program where they pass out lunch items once a week while school is out. This year, they are partnered with three local communities that may benefit from the program. Last week, they fed about 70 children and anticipate more in the future.
The food items for the summer lunch program come from community donations and partnerships with Second Harvest Metrolina, along with other partners.
Additionally, every Friday the truck passes out grocery items from its grassroots grocery store and provides them to families in need.
So far, the truck has traveled to places such as Statesville, Mooresville and Cleveland. To find out where the truck will be next, one can view their schedule on their website.

Operations such as feeding others to driving are done by volunteers of FeedNC as well as their program coordinator, Bri.
To continue providing food, education and resources for others, the truck could use donations whether it be summer lunch items such as pre-made sandwiches or water bottles, hygiene and sanitation products or financial contributions. The truck also is looking for volunteers or corporate volunteer groups.
CEO of FeedNC, Laura Ingram, joined our show to talk more about the organization. For more information about the truck and their mission, view the segment above, visit their website or follow their social media accounts @FeedNCorg.
