CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - Treat yourself to a luxurious dining experience with one of the Charlotte City Club’s most popular meals.
Chef Michael Gardner from the Charlotte City Club made one of the club’s most requested recipes: crabcakes with napa chow-chow, sweet potatoes and caper remoulade.
The Charlotte City Club is the only private membership club in uptown Charlotte, offering panoramic views of the city, world-class cuisine and personalized service. They regularly host unique tastings and other social events for members to enjoy, in addition to reciprocal partnerships with over 250 private clubs worldwide.

Crabcakes Recipe
- 15g Old Bay
- 81g Italian breadcrumbs
- 3ea Eggs
- 100g Green onion
- 70g Dijon mustard
- 220g Mayo
- 3g Lemon zest
- 50g Lemon Juice
- 3# Lump Crab
In a bowl combine all ingredients except crab meat and mix well. Fold in crab meat until combined taking care not to break apart crab meat.
Caper Remoulade Recipe
- 3 Tbsp. celery, diced
- 2 Tbsp. yellow onion, diced
- 3 ½ Tbsp. capers, drained
- 2 tsp. caper juice
- 2 ¼ cups Duke’s Mayonnaise
- 1 ½ Tbsp. dill relish
- 1 Tbsp. Cajun seasoning
- 1 Tbsp. Lea & Perrin’s Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
- 1 ½ tsp. lemon juice
Blend all ingredients except for mayonnaise in a food processor until mostly smooth. You’ll want the mixture to have some texture to it. Fold the mixture into the mayonnaise and store it in the refrigerator.
