CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - Food writer Kristen Wile of Unpretentious Palate stopped by QC Life to break down the latest updates across the Charlotte-area food scene, from fresh restaurant makeovers to upcoming tasting events.
Customshop: The Elizabeth neighborhood staple recently reopened with a refreshed, modernized dining room.
Yama SouthPark: Known for sushi and Japanese fare, the SouthPark location also completed an interior redesign.
Freshlist is hosting a brand new event called the Chef’s Harvest at Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens on Sunday, Sept. 20, from 5 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $120 and bring together top area chefs dedicated to sourcing local.
A seasonal course from chef Tucker Bell and his Victuals Supper Club hosted in Gastonia at The Esquire Hotel. Bell is executive chef of Barrister’s, the seasonal restaurant inside the hotel. Victuals unites local ingredients with his grandmother’s traditional Appalachian cooking and stories of Tucker’s childhood. Tickets are $100 for 6-8 courses with pairings and dinners take place on Saturdays.
