LaLa’s Brownies:
- 5 squares unsweetened chocolate
- 2 sticks butter
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 ½ cup flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3/4 cup chopped walnuts
Cheryl Brayboy makes Lois & Lala’s Salted Caramel Brownies
Directions:
- Melt chocolate with butter
- Beat eggs and add sugar
- Combine egg mixture with chocolate mixture
- Add flour and mix with a spoon
- Add vanilla and ¾ cup walnuts
- Cook in a 325* oven for 25 minutes
- Cool and enjoy!
Lois’ Salted Caramel Topping:
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 8 tbsp. butter, cubed
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- sea salt
- ½ cup walnuts
Directions:
- Mix sugar and water in a pan
- Melt sugar over medium heat until it boils (about 5 minutes)
- Stir to keep from clumping
- Remove from heat
- Add cream and butter to the sugar mixture
- As the caramel sauce thickens, begin to drizzle over brownies
- Sprinkle with walnuts and/or sea salt
- Let cool
- Slice & serve!
