CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - We’ve been talking about the popularity behind ditching alcohol or cutting back for Dry January.
While you might be taking a break, you don’t need to cut out all the social situations. Many bars around the QC have added mocktails to their menus.
Madison Rathburn is the assistant manager of Elsewhere CLT.
She joined us in the QC Kitchen to do an alcohol-free variation on the modern classic Jungle Bird cocktail.
Here’s what you need to enjoy this mocktail at home.

Ingredients:
- Pinch Salt
- .75 oz Rich Demerara Syrup
- .75 oz Fresh Lime Juice
- 1 oz Fresh Pineapple juice
- 2 oz Red Bitter Soda (we use Stappj brand)
Instructions:
- Shake the first three ingredients hard for 10 seconds, strain over fresh ice in a rocks glass
- Top with red bitter soda and stir to incorporate.
